Good Luck Stacey
I just like to wish Stacey Baker (and her friend and fellow CrossFiter Heather) GOOD LUCK on tomorrow’s race. She’ll be running the Huriccane half marathon and I know she is prepared and will do well. Stacey has put in a lot of time and hard work in on her running form and endurance training. I am confident that it will pay off with a great race. I just wanted to share with all of you what she sent me earlier in the week about her training over the past few months.
“I’m getting excited for what this week will bring. Thanks for all your coaching and help. In the short time we have trained, I have felt a huge improvement in my lungs. My lungs used to burn every time I ran. Now, even though I may breathe hard, my lungs don’t hurt. One other thing I noticed yesterday when I ran (during an 8 mile run), at first my breathing was kinda hard, but by the time I hit 2 miles, I noticed that my breathing had quieted down, was consistent and good. I was able to carry on a conversation throughout the entire run. For me, that’s a big deal…so thanks!”
As some of you know CrossFit Endurance has a prescribed a weeks worth of workouts that they recommend you do the week before a race. Below is a picture of Stacey attempting a Dead Lift PR of 175#. She nearly got this up and did successfully set her PR at 165#.
