			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Why CrossFit Ruined My Life: Dedicated to BT &amp; Greg Glassman, the men who ruined my life.</strong></p>
<p>Before I found CrossFit I was active, healthy, and could generally do what I wanted without too much effort. I ran, biked, hiked, played basketball, enjoyed the Outdoors, played with my kids and lived what was in my opinion a relatively balanced and happy lifestyle. Then I found CrossFit and my life will never be the same&#8230;.</p>
<p>Because of CrossFit, normal everyday people just don’t look the same. When you are constantly surrounded by CrossFitters your perception of human anatomy becomes skewed. Too skinny is weak and too strong is slow.</p>
<p>Because of CrossFit, I believe ALL people are capable of amazing physical feats and they just don&#8217;t know it and if they step through my doors and they don’t produce, I take it personally. We&#8217;re AmeriCAN&#8217;s, not AmeriCANT&#8217;s!</p>
<p>Because of CrossFit, I will never be alone. There will always be friends that I should spend time with, athletes I need train and new people I want to get to know.</p>
<p>Because of CrossFit, I will spend way to much time lurking on websites, watching, learning, getting pumped up and being inspired. CrossFit.com is the last site I look at every night before bed, and the CrossFit Journal&#8230;.don&#8217;t even get me started. Why am I mesmerized by people working out? Stinking CrossFit!</p>
<p>Because of CrossFit, my hands will never be the same. They will forever remain rough, coarse and will sometimes be bloodied. They have become hands of work and capacity. They are not for looks, they are for doing.</p>
<p>Because of CrossFit, I will never be able to separate my health and fitness again. They will always be joined as one.</p>
<p>Because of CrossFit, people just think I work out all day, deprive myself of food and don&#8217;t do anything fun. It&#8217;s just that fun for me is lying in a heap on the floor, with my friends after a WOD wondering what just happened &#8230; for this I blame Griff and Helen!</p>
<p>Because of CrossFit, I will never be satisfied with my fitness. There will always be something to achieve, something to try, and something to “get better at” and <em>nothing I can&#8217;t do!</em></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><a href="http://www.crossfitiota.com" target="_blank">CrossFit IoTA </a>has done it AGAIN, another first for CrossFit in Cache Valley.</strong> We are the first official CrossFit Endurance affiliate in Cache Valley and the third in Utah. Not only do we have the most experienced CrossFit Endurance coach in the Valley, but we also have a very strong group of members who are following the CrossFit Endurance prescription for training. I am so pleased with all of the member athletes who have helped make this a reality and represent our training methods and philosophies in Cache Valley&#8217;s local endurance community on a regular basis. The word is already getting out about the team in RED!! 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With Spring on our door step, the desire to get out and run, bike and do other fun activities that so many of us enjoy is starting to grow… Spring fever any one?  A few (six) of the athletes from CrossFit IoTA got bit by the fever last Saturday and opened our cycling season with a 40 mile bike ride through Richmond, Lewiston, Trenton, Franklin &amp; Cove.  <a title="Athlete Profile – Jerry Hall" href="http://crossfitiota.com/2011/01/15/athlete-profile-jerry-hall/">Jerry</a> and <a title="Athlete Profile – John Apedaile" href="http://crossfitiota.com/2011/02/12/athlete-profile-john-apedaile/">John</a> have been seen riding their bikes into the box, and <a title="Athlete Profile – Daryl Burr" href="http://crossfitiota.com/2011/01/01/1-2-11-athlete-profile-daryl-burr/">Daryl </a>even took on <a title="8-10-10 “Griff”" href="http://crossfitiota.com/2010/08/09/8-10-10-griff/">Griff</a> today in the 10# vest!</p>
<p>Just a reminder that if you are planning on training for a specific event (marathon, triathlon and the like) and need some help with programing, be sure and talk to one of the coaches so we can get you performing and training at your best.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#ff0000;"><em>(RUNNING)</em></span></strong> We are going to start posting weekly running workouts twice a week  on the <a href="http://crossfitiota.com">CrossFit IoTA website </a>as well as at the box, for you to do on your own or at <a href="http://crossfitiota.com">CrossFit IoTA</a>.  Please talk to Paul about how to program/fit these WOD&#8217;s into your week and training schedule so that you continue to train at the highest and most effective levels.  Once the weather becomes more consistent, we will be holding these running workouts as a class/group/team most likely on Wednesday nights.  Once these group runs start, they will also include some run technique instruction as well.<br />
<em><strong><span style="color:#ff0000;">(CYCLING)</span></strong> </em>For those who cycle, when the weather gets better, we will be doing Tuesday and Thursday night rides.  Please let us know if you are interested in riding with us so we can keep you in the loop.<br />
<strong><span style="color:#ff0000;"><em>(SWIMMING)</em></span></strong> Last but not least if you’re interested in swimming and would like to get some swimming in, we meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings 5am at the Smithfield rec center. Anyone is welcome to come drop in for a swim WOD!  Don’t be nervous… we’re all there to get better and I’ve been amazed at how much my swimming has improved since I started back in November.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>BURPEES for SANTA at <a href="http://www.crossfitiota.com" target="_self">CrossFit IoTA</a></strong></p>
<p>Even though Christmas is nine weeks away, many people won&#8217;t have a Christmas unless we have individuals, groups, clubs and businesses willing to step forward to &#8220;adopt&#8221; them.  This year at CrossFit IoTA we will be contributing to our local SUB for SANTA here in Cache Valley and will be adopting a family.</p>
<p>This is something that is completely voluntary and if you would like to participate, please do.  The BURPEES for SANTA challenge will begin tomorrow at our box!!  Each day we will be doing Burpees after the WOD, starting tomorrow with 1 and ending with 50.  For each day we would ask that you drop one penny for each burpee you do into the BURPEES for SANTA jar.</p>
<p>So day one, you do one burpee after the WOD, grab a penny from your car and drop it in.  Day two, two Burpees, two pennies and so on until we reach 50 on December 18th.  It&#8217;s that easy!  Then we will take the jar (or hopefully something bigger by that point) and convert all the loose change into manageable bills so that we can provide Christmas for a family in need. Anyone who would like to be on the shipping comite talk with Tami or Paul.</p>
